• Randal A. Wiedemann, MBA

 

Randal WiedemannAs President of R.A. Wiedemann & Associates, Randal Wiedemann brings 36 years of airport planning experience to the firm's profile. Mr. Wiedemann concentrates his efforts in physical and economic planning areas with emphasis on airport business plans, airline service and marketing programs, economic impact analysis, military joint use and reuse studies, airport master planning, airport management services, environmental assessments, and aviation systems planning. Mr. Wiedemann has participated in and directed numerous air service studies, airport master plans, airport system plans, air cargo studies, management studies, economic impact studies, environmental assessments, financial studies, and airspace utilization evaluations. Mr. Wiedemann's technical areas of expertise include public information program coordination and direction, aviation demand forecasting, airport capacity determination, airport layout and Part 77 planning, economic impact analyses and financial planning, land use and noise analyses, and the identification and evaluation of airport alternatives.

 

Mr. Wiedemann is one of the most experienced airport business planners in the nation, participating in the development of more than 60 airport business plans since 2000. These plans have been for a diverse set of airports. Both general aviation and air carrier airports have been included in the list of successful business planning projects. Examples include Plattsburgh (NY), New Braunfels (TX), Fort Smith (AR), Rutland (VT), Adirondack (NY), New Castle (DE), Sussex County (DE), Morehead (KY), Genesee County (NY), Summit Airport (DE), Oswego County (NY), Montpelier (VT), Palo Alto (CA), East Hampton (NY), Mid-Ohio Valley Regional (WV), Brookhaven, (NY), Millington (TN), Denton (TX), Suffolk County (NY), Maury County (TN), Lee’s Summit (MO), Canandaigua (NY), Bennington (VT), Decatur (IL), Dansville (NY), Somerset (KY), and many others.

 

Mr. Wiedemann received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado (1975) and his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the University of Cincinnati (1979). In addition, Mr. Wiedemann served on the faculty at Northern Kentucky University where he taught evening classes relating to aviation (1980-1992).

 

• Rob Barber III

 

Rob BarberP.R. (Rob) Barber III has more than 25 years experience in marketing; public/media relations; advertising; motion picture film and video production; script, speech and copy writing; still photography; graphic design; illustration; and business administration.

 

Rob has written, produced and directed over 1,500 television commercials; 20 music videos; 2,600 radio commercials; 5 television programs and numerous corporate, industrial and marketing videos. He has photographed and designed more than 100 record album covers, 25 book covers, numerous print advertisements and promotional materials.

 

Rob began his professional career in Nashville, Tennessee, as a photographer and graphic designer, working with some of the top artists in the music industry. Rob worked for a time as an art director and writer with Carden & Cherry Advertising, during the height of their popular “Ernest & Vern” syndicated advertising campaign. In addition to aviation clients across the U.S., Rob has provided creative services for a number of national and large regional advertising accounts including Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Coca-Cola, Mello Yello, Sprite, A&W Root Beer, Modern Foods, Exxon Avitat, and HCA Hospital Corporation of America.

• Paul N. Wiedemann, MBA

 

Paul Wiedemann's technical expertise is in data analysis, financial modeling, demand forecasting, and strategic planning. Paul is experienced in the areas of business plans, benefit cost analysis, air service feasibility studies, aviation system planning, airport demand forecasting, economic impact analyses, airport capacity determination, web design, software design, video production, business and consumer surveys, and research.

 

Paul has worked on over 30 business plans to improve the financial performance, economic development and operation of each airport. Examples include Lock Haven (PA), Palo Alto (CA), Tri-Cities (NY), Oswego County (NY), Watertown (NY), Canandaigua (NY), Fort Smith (AR), Morehead (KY), Cape May (NJ), Millville (NJ), Delaware Airpark (DE), Civil Air Terminal (DE), Lake Cumberland Regional (KY), Hartness (VT), Knapp (VT), Middlebury (VT), Rutland (VT), Lee’s Summit (MO), New Braunfels (TX) and Denton (TX).

 

Paul Wiedemann has also worked on the air service feasibility studies for Anderson (SC), Dover (DE), Jamestown (NY), Somerset (KY), and for the Big Sandy Region (KY). He has worked on the benefit/cost analysis for Monroe (NC) and Sussex (DE). Paul has also worked on the demand forecasts for Buffalo Niagara International Airport, Mt. Sterling (KY), Venice (FL), and the demand and capacity forecasts for three multi-year system plans including the North Central Texas General Aviation and Heliport System Plan.

 

In North Central Texas, Paul developed an aviation demand forecasting software program Avcast 2.0® that incorporates both objective (statistical) and subjective (judgmental) criteria in the forecasting of regional operations, registered aircraft, based aircraft and operations at each of the 44 airports in the system. He has also developed a model that will forecast the need for airport facilities, the cost of those facilities, and the appropriate funding source.

 

Paul Wiedemann has participated on the aviation system plan, inventory, demand capacity, and aviation video for the state of Delaware. Paul also manages the firm’s contract work involving the state of Delaware’s aircraft operations counting program, pavement management system, and safety inspection program.

 

Paul received his Business Administration degree in Management from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 2009.

 

• Dr. Geoffrey Hewings, PhD

 

Dr. Geoffrey HewingsDr. Geoffrey J.D. Hewings serves as an associate of R.A. Wiedemann & Associates and concentrates his efforts in the firm's economic impact and econometric modeling disciplines. Dr. Hewings is a Professor of Geography and Regional Science and of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he serves as Director of the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory (REAL), a joint venture between the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago an the University of Illinois. The major focus of REAL is the development of models of urban and regional economies.

 

Professor Hewings' research experience has focused on the development of economic impact assessments, econometric models, regional input-output models, and economic base models. He has worked on the development of the Economic Impact Forecast System (EIFS), a county based impact analysis model, for the U. S. Army Construction Engineering Laboratory.

 

Professor Geoffrey J.D. Hewings has been on the faculty of the University of Illinois since 1974. He was promoted to Full Professor in 1983 and assumed the Headship of the Geography Department at the same time. Prior to coming to Illinois, he was on the faculty of the Universities of Toronto in Canada and Kent at Canterbury in England. In addition, he has been a visiting professor at the Universities of Massachusetts (Amhurst), and Queensland (Australia) and Bar Ilan University (Israel). Since 1978, he has served as Executive Secretary of the Regional Science Association, one of the major interdisciplinary professional organizations in social science. In January 1989, he assumed the position of Director of the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory. In addition, Dr. Hewings has been appointed as a Special Sworn Agent of the U.S. Bureau of the Census and has access to their establishment-level data. He is the author of three books, editor of two more and has published over 50 articles in major professional journals.

 

His consultancies include: Northern Territory Government (Australia), State of Queensland, Greece, Korea Research on Human Settlements (Seoul), Midwest Universities Consortium on International Activities, U.S. Department of Energy and several Illinois state agencies. He has been a long term consultant for the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Laboratory for the development of a county-based economic impact forecast system (EIFS). He has worked with R.A. Wiedemann & Associates using the IMPLAN input-output model for economic impact assessment. He has been instrumental in all economic impact studies undertaken by Wiedemann & Associates.

 

• Seth A. Wiedemann

 

Seth WiedemannSeth Wiedemann is in charge of the website development section of R.A. Wiedemann & Associates. He designed, built, and manages several commercial websites for a variety of business types.

 

As a graphic designer, Seth Wiedemann has developed flyers, programs, name tags, and posters for events such as the Delaware Aviation Summit, and the Delaware Aviation Career Day. Seth also aided in the marketing for these events by maintaining websites, organizing sponsor lists, and compiling guest registration forms.   

 

Seth graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky in 2010. His specialized range of studies included Micro and Macro Economics, Financial and Managerial Accounting, Organizational and Human Resource Management, Business Law, International Business, Strategic Management, and Marketing Management.
